It’s a very impressive game with a vibrant, secret-filled game world that’s a joy to explore and action platforming gameplay that throws new challenges at you each time you enter a level. The current demo build offers a sizeable chunk of gameplay, with a town to explore, challenging randomly generated levels and lots of side quests and secrets to discover. The towns are also the only place you can swap your emblem load-out – unlockable perks that give you abilities such as higher jumps or faster rolls. You can unlock upgrades and perks via quests and shops, but those three abilities can get you through the entire game – if you’re good enough! Before you venture into the randomly generated levels though you can explore the local towns – allowing you to chat to NPC’s, accept quests, purchase equipment and discover secrets. In Renaine you take on the role of a knight who has the ability to roll, jump and sword slash. Renaine is a beautifully animated pixel art action platforming adventure with RPG elements, which sees you chatting to quirky NPC’s, completing side quests and running, jumping and hacking your way through levels that change every time you die.
